ARK News… Germany has been proposing for some time to include the Revolutionary Guards as a whole in the European list of terrorism. The Netherlands and the Czech Republic support this proposal

Informed sources revealed to the correspondent of Al-Arabiya and Al-Ahadath channels in Brussels today, Friday, that delegates of the member states of the European Union are discussing the possibility of including the Iranian Revolutionary Guards in the European terrorist lists, as part of several options aimed at escalating pressure on the Iranian authorities in response to its continued Suppressing protests and using the death penalty to intimidate protesters.

According to the sources, Germany has been proposing for some time to include the Revolutionary Guards as a whole in the European terrorist list. The sources added that the Netherlands and the Czech Republic support Germany's proposal.

France may present a proposal in this regard during the meeting of delegates next week, as a prelude to the meetings of European foreign ministers later.

According to the sources, the delegates are discussing the possibility of adopting a fourth package of sanctions against Iran, to be issued after the foreign ministers' meeting on Monday, January 23.

The same sources suggested that the issue of including the Revolutionary Guards on European terrorist lists would take some time for research and scrutiny due to the legal, political, and diplomatic aspects.

This news comes a day after Leo Docherty, Secretary of State at the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs, revealed to Parliament on Thursday that Britain is considering classifying the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization, but has not yet taken a final decision on this regard.

"I would be wrong to speculate ... about the outcome of the study that the government is currently conducting on this issue, and it is a study that is being done seriously," Docherty said during a discussion of the situation in Iran, during which some members called for a ban on the Revolutionary Guard.

He continued: "But I can say that I believe that the invitations in all corners of this Council, and the unity with which these invitations are directed from all parties will be considered by the government, and this is something that we take with a great degree of attention."

In the event that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard is classified as a terrorist group, this will entail characterizing belonging to it, attending its meetings, and carrying its logo in public places as a criminal offense in Britain.

It is noteworthy that the Revolutionary Guards are already under British sanctions.
