The 17th Anniversary of the killing of the Martyr Sheikh Mashouq Al Khaznawi
ARK News... Seventeen years ago, on the 10th of May 2005, Sheikh Muhammad Mashouq al-Khaznawi was kidnapped, twenty days after he was kidnapped by the Syrian regime in Damascus, the capital, he died under torture and his body was dumped in Deir Ezzor on 1 June.

Mohammed Mashouq, son of Sheikh Azzaddin Al-Khaznawi and known as Sheikh of Martyrs Mashouq Al-Khaznawi. He was born in the village of Till Marouf of Qamishlo city in 25. 1. 1958, he is a cordial family known as Al-Kaznawiya in relation to grandfather Sheikh Ahmad Al-Khaznawi, who used to call his preach from his village Khazna, which he later attributed to him, and this family is considered one of the most important religious references, if not the most important in the region.
He studied science with his first teacher, his father Sheikh Azzaddin, in addition to the famous educator Mullah Abdullah Qartimini, his daily mentor, as well as his studying the regular study at the Institute of Sharia in the Institute of Islamic Sciences in Bab al-Jabiya in Damascus. and then in Medina, to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Islamic Sciences and then a doctorate from Pakistan. He has participated in numerous international conferences, in Riyadh, Vienna, and elsewhere, and has held many seminars in Europe and the world.
His participation and role in the 2004 uprising
After the great uprising, he took upon himself the responsibility of awakening the Kurds through the sermons he gave in mosques, in addition to seminars and lectures against the repressive policy practiced by the Baathist regime against the Kurds. Among the most powerful speeches delivered by the martyr were those delivered on Nawroz and his fiery speech on the anniversary of the martyrdom of the Qamishlo uprising, the martyr Farhad Muhammad Ali on the eighth of April 2005.
He was repeating that he was going to martyrdom, and he was well aware that the regime was hatching a plot to assassinate him and was not going to give up on demanding Kurdish rights or back down, until he was kidnapped in the capital, Damascus, on the tenth of September 2005 by the Syrian regime's intelligence services.

Because of his opposition to the Baathist regime and his demand for Kurdish rights and his participation in the 2004 uprising that swept the cities of Kurdistan Syria, he was kidnapped on May 10, 2005, while he was in prison, Maher al-Assad, brother of Bashar al-Assad, head of the Syrian regime, supervised his torture, his beard and eyebrows were pulled out and his body was disfigured as a result. He cut his body into three parts. His death was announced on June 1 of the same year, twenty days after his kidnapping. When his relatives received his body, his hands were mutilated, his beard and eyebrows were completely plucked, and traces of brutal torture were evident on his body.

Soon the news of his martyrdom spread, the Kurds responded to the call and more than a million Kurds gathered in the city of Qamishlo, where the martyr was buried in the Qaddour Beg cemetery and was buried there.
