Qatari Mediators Return to Tehran in Bid to Secure US-Iran Agreement
ARK News.. Qatari mediators returned to Tehran on Friday, October 30, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to reach an agreement between the United States and Iran, according to a news report.
Reuters quoted a source familiar with the matter as saying that the mediation talks were being coordinated with Washington. Qatar submitted a draft peace plan to Iran last Sunday.
A senior Iranian official reportedly rejected the proposals, describing them as unacceptable, and said Tehran would maintain its position on the nuclear issue.
According to the source, Washington wants nuclear issues included from the outset of negotiations. Tehran, meanwhile, is demanding that the United States first end its blockade of Iranian ports and lift sanctions on Iranian oil exports.
