The Erbil-Duhok highway, known as Gopal Road, was opened on Monday, which will have a major role in securing the safety and comfort of citizens.

The Governor of Erbil, Omid Khoshnaw, told reporters during the opening ceremony: “This road was completed under the direction of the Prime Minister, Masrour Barzani, and it will have a great role in facilitating transportation between the various cities of the Kurdistan Region,” referring to the great interest that the new government cabin in the Kurdistan Region attaches to transportation projects.

This road was constructed according to international standards, its length is 35 km, all safety principles have been taken into consideration, and its cost is $ 166 million.

This project was completed under the supervision of the Roads Directorate in Erbil, by (Heman Group).

The project includes 6 bridges and upper and lower corridors, and it is the only highway without intersections within the borders of Erbil, which will contribute to preserving the safety of citizens to a large extent.
