US Preparing for a “Short and Intense” Military Campaign Against Iran

An American newspaper, citing informed sources, has reported that the United States has told Gulf countries to prepare for a “short and intense” military campaign that it could launch against Iran, as part of coordinated US-Israeli efforts aimed at weakening Tehran’s capabilities and forcing it back to the negotiating table under new terms.

According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, the communications took place through senior diplomatic and military channels and coincided with extensive military preparations. These include deploying air-defense systems, replenishing ammunition stockpiles, preparing strategic bombers and fighter jets, and strengthening the US naval presence in Middle Eastern waters.

According to the report, the reinforcements include the transfer of additional Patriot missile batteries from Texas to the region, alongside the deployment of a new carrier strike group and Marine Corps units, which are expected to arrive next month to strengthen both defensive and offensive capabilities.

The newspaper noted that US President Donald Trump has not yet made a final decision on whether to order a strike. However, ongoing military deliberations are examining options targeting Iran’s critical infrastructure and nuclear facilities, reflecting a strategic shift from relying primarily on economic sanctions and a naval blockade toward direct military action.
