Qatar: "The opening of the Qatari Consulate will prepare a good ground for work in economic and investment projects."

President Masoud Barzani, on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, received in Salahuddin Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, the Qatari Minister for Foreign Affairs conveyed the greetings of the Emir of Qatar to President Barzani, and Al-Thani and expressed his admiration for prosperity and stability in the region, announcing the availability of opportunities and appropriate conditions for investment in the Kurdistan Region.

He pointed out that the opening of the Qatari consulate in Erbil will prepare a good ground for work in economic and investment projects in the region. The Qatari Minister of Foreign Affairs also wished to strengthen and develop relations between his country and the Kurdistan Region.

For his part, President Masoud Barzani, in addition to welcoming the guest delegation, expressed his happiness about Qatar's intention to open a consulate in the Kurdistan region and welcomed the strengthening of relations between the Kurdistan Region and Qatar.
