Statement to the public opinion

ARK News: Turkish threats and its readiness to launch a military campaign in areas adjacent to its southern border with Syria east of the Euphrates, and condemned and irresponsible statements by armed factions, have caused great concern and panic among the people of the region in all its components. Especially after the decision of the abrupt US withdrawal from border control points with Turkey, despite the entry into force of the security agreement between them in last August into force.

These threats, if implemented, would bring the region into conflict with additional consequences and suffering for the people of the region from migration and displacement, and opens the door to various conflicts and interventions, which negatively affects the overall political process in Syria, which the Syrian people and the international community were optimistic after the announcement of the formation of the Constitutional Committee.

The Kurdish National Council in Syria calls upon the international community and the concerned parties with Syria, especially the United Nations, to work hard to stop these threats, and any military action would expose the region and its people to more disasters and the scourge of the conflict and seek urgent and peaceful solutions that will remove the specter of war and interventions and call on all parties concerned not to let our Kurdish people fall victim to political and military conflicts after decades of denial and oppression.

We have already stated our position, and we continue, to all concerned parties with the Syrian crisis that the solution that avoids any military intervention in the region lies in the formation of a new administration of all coexisting components of the people of the region and the formation of a joint military force to protect it. We call upon the concerned countries with the Syrian file to adopt it, and reject any demographic change in the region, and warn of its consequences, which will be disastrous for the entire region, we call on all parties concerned to work for a political solution to the Syrian situation in the country, including the issue of our Kurdish people, we call on our people to be vigilant and to act responsibly away from the logic of slogans that offend their cause, disregard their fate, and focus on the unity of the Kurdish position as a starting point for the preservation of our people and their cause, where PYD practices a policy of unilateralism and leaves no room for convergence despite sincere agreements, efforts and initiatives in this field.
