Afrin: An elderly man was assaulted in Turinde and looting two houses in the village of Qarmitlq
ARK News: An armed group in Afrin, Kurdistan, raided a house of an old Kurdish civilian in a village adjacent to the Ashrafiya neighborhood in the city center of Afrin and brutally assaulted him and stole his money. And an armed group belonging to al-Amshat also robbed and looted the entire two houses in the village of Qarmitlq of Shiye town.
Local sources reported that an armed group carried out on Wednesday, 27 February 2019, the raid on the house of the elder Sheikh Simo in the village of Turinde adjacent to the neighborhood of Ashrafiya in the city center of Afrin and tying him up with the beating.
The sources also said that the raiders stole 8,500 thousand Syrian pounds in addition to a mobile phone device and were reluctant to return again if he did not evacuate his house.
Local sources also confirmed that the elderly Sheikh Simo 65 years old, from the village of Hayama belonging to Bulbil town who was living in the village of Turinde and working in a pharmacy in the city center of Afrin.
An armed group belonging to Al-Amshat also robbed and looted the entire two houses in the village of Qarmitlq of Shiye town, where the two houses belong to two Kurdish citizens, Youssef Chilo, and Ali Sheikho when they were outside their houses, according to a source inside Qarmitlq village.
It is worth mentioning that the armed groups have recently witnessed the frequency of attacks from the kidnapping, killing, and looting of property belonging to the original Kurds which aimed at forcing Kurdish residents to leave their homes, which in turn exposes the Afrin region to the danger of demographic change.
