Turkey and Egypt exchange views on developments in Syria

ARK News… Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri discussed the latest developments in Syria

This came during the visit made by Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry to Turkey, where he met with Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Erdogan received Shukri at Dolma Baghcha Palace in Istanbul, and held a closed meeting with him in the presence of Fidan, the head of the intelligence service, Ibrahim Kalin, the head of the Communications Department, Fahrettin Altun, and the president’s senior advisor for foreign and security policy, “Akif Cagatay Kilic”.

Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said that Erdogan and Shoukri “exchanged visions regarding developments related to the Syrian crisis.”

He explained that Shoukry referred to “Cairo’s firm position on the Syrian crisis, which is based on the necessity of reaching a political settlement in accordance with Resolution 2254, in a way that guarantees the achievement of Syria’s sovereignty, security and stability.”

Abu Zeid also indicated that the two parties stressed the importance of coordination between Egypt and Turkey regarding the situation in Libya to implement international resolutions relevant to resolving the crisis.
