ARK News: The United States has pledged that the "international community" will not begin providing assistance for the reconstruction of Syria before starting of the Power transfer process in the country which has been going through a crisis since 2011.,

Deputy Permanent US Representative to the United Nations, Jonathan Cohen in his speech on Monday during a session of the UN Security Council, which was held to discuss the situation in the Middle East said: “The formation of the constitutional committee represents the first and pivotal step towards political transformation in Syria. "

Cohen continued: "The international community will not even begin to consider the issue of assistance for the reconstruction of Syria before the start of a sustainable and irreversible political process in the country”.

The US official accused the Syrian authorities of " procrastination the formation of the constitutional committee," calling on Russia to influence the head of the Syrian regime, Bashar al-Assad, to accelerate this process.

The initiative to form the constitutional committee comes back to the Syrian national dialogue conference which held on January 30 in the Russian city of Sochi, to be approved by the former UN envoy, Staffan de Mistura.

The United States insists on the need to form a committee soon to begin what it calls the process of political transition in a reference to the transfer of power from Assad's government to the other.

The United States since the mandate of its former president, Barack Obama has provided with financial and military support for what it calls moderate opposition in Syria, which is fighting the Assad-led Syrian regime accused by Washington of war crimes against its people, including the use of chemical weapons.

Unlike his predecessor, the current US President Donald Trump has ordered three times to launch attacks on Syrian regime sites over the past two years on the pretext of using chemical weapons
