Afrin … Despite the opening of a commercial crossing, the prices of agricultural crops are low
ARK News: The Turkish government announced November 8 opening a border crossing between Afrin and Kurdistan in the village of Hammam in Jenderes town and Turkey, according to Turkey that the goal of opening a border crossing with Afrin is to stimulate the commercial traffic between the two sides.
Despite the opening of the crossing officially, the prices of agricultural crops in Afrin are low and significantly lower, but the markets are witnessing a rise in the price of diesel fuel.
A source from Afrin city reported the ARK Media Foundation on November 16, 2018, that the prices of a single bottle of olive oil are still limited to between 14 thousand Syrian pounds, while they sold in neighboring areas at a higher price.
The source added that the farmers and traders did not benefit from the border crossing, which came into force a few days ago because of the restriction of the oil crop within Afrin region and not allow the sale of oil crop out of Afrin.
The Turkish officials in Afrin issued a decision banning the sale of containers only within the Afrin region and local traders. The decision is therefore subject to the peasants of severe damage due to the low price of a single bottle of oil. The price of the package does not cover the expenses which spent for two years of caring and attention to the trees from the expenses of tillage, watering, Pruning of trees, the wage of payload and workers and wage of presses.
