Liwaa Samarkand seizes on an olive press in rural Afrin

ARK News: Since the entry of the Turkish forces and armed groups, the village of Ruota belonging to Mabata town, they considered it as a military zone. They prevented most of the Kurds from returning to their village, which contains a large prison belonging to the Liwaa Samarkand, They also destroyed burned the surrounding forests and looted the property of Kurds.

A private source in Mabata town reported to ARK News that “the Liwaa Samarkand seized the olive press owned by the citizen Suleiman Hassan who displaced his village during entering the Turkish army accompanied with the armed groups to it, and they run the press in their favor.”

The same source reported that the militias of Liwaa Samarkand force the residents of Ruota village and the neighboring villages of (Ramadana - Dalaw - Haj Qaasma – Mistashoura - Haj Hasna) through their checkpoints on the main road to bring their crops of olive to the press that they are running at present.”

It is noteworthy that the pro-Turkish factions, which participated in the occupation of Afrin city, committed dozens of crimes against the people of the city and its rural, killing, kidnapping and torture, along with looting and theft, burning agricultural crops, the seizure of property of citizens, and the destruction of monuments which lead to the change of Afrin’s region demography.
