A pro-Turkish armed group kidnaps Kurdish young man in Afrin city
ARK News: A pro-Turkish armed group in the Kurdish city of Afrin, arrested a Kurdish young man, in continuation of daily violations against Kurdish civilians, with the aim of extorting their relatives to take ransom from them.
A special source in Afrin city reported to ARK News, that the young, Abdo Bashir Ma’mo was arrested on Monday, 29 October 2018, by an undetermined faction, indicating that his fate is still unknown.
Abdo Ma’mo is a resident of Afrin city and works in the supermarket of Bashir located near the mail center street.
It is noteworthy that the participating factions alongside the Turkish army in the occupation of the city is kidnapping Kurdish citizens and extorting their relatives, in order to request large financial ransoms.
The Hague Regulations and the Geneva Conventions affirm the prohibition of hostage-taking and collective punishment of individuals who are under the occupation of a State or armed groups.
It worth mentioning that the pro-Turkish factions, which participated in the occupation of the of Afrin city, committed dozens of crimes against the people of the city and its countryside, killing, kidnapping and torture, along with looting and theft, burning agricultural crops, and seize the property of citizens, and the destruction of archaeological and religious, aimed at emptying the city of its original people and changing its demography
