Brett McGurk: Decree No. 13 Must Be Enshrined in Syria’s New Constitution

ARK News.. Former White House Coordinator for the Middle East Brett McGurk stressed the importance of incorporating Presidential Decree No. 13 concerning Kurdish rights into Syria’s new constitution.

According to Kurdistan24, McGurk emphasised the importance of enshrining Decree No. 13 in the new Syrian constitution. The decree recognises the legitimate rights of the Kurdish people in Syria.

On Tuesday, September 22, 2026, McGurk hosted Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa for a special dialogue session at the Atlantic Council in New York.
