ARK News… In clear contradiction to his slogans that he has been raising and claiming over the past 30 years, and the "ostensibly" calling for liberation and independence, and deceiving thousands of young Kurds with these bright slogans, by throwing them into a constant struggle throughout these years has lost his connection to the opinion of most observers, a prominent leader in the PKK reiterated his call for the Kurds to "liberate" from what he called the "narrow nation-state mentality", calling on them to initiate the development of the management of "coexistence between peoples and democratic unity."

A member of the Executive Committee of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), Duran Kalkan (who is of Turkish origin), praised, in statements to the media of his party, the agreement signed by the Syrian Democratic Council "MSD" and the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (PYD administration) with the "People's Administration" party, considering that "Evidence of correct development of agreements," as he put it.

PKK leader Duran Kalkan went on to say that each of the Democratic Society Movement, the Democratic Union Party, and the Syrian Democratic Council can develop their relations with the rest of the parties in the region.

Considering that such relations are very important in the new Middle East, saying that the "nationalist concept" caused the destruction of the old Middle East.

Kalkan called for "emancipation" from the mentality of the "narrow nation-state" and the initiation of the development of "management of coexistence between peoples and democratic unity."

Kalkan referred to the situation in the city of Shangal (Sinjar), whose party is allied with the Popular Mobilization Forces there and imposes its presence in this region despite the residents' demands to evacuate it to prepare for the return of the displaced and to prevent the ongoing Turkish bombing of it, saying, "There are various plans and plots against Shangal, and we hope that the Iraqi administration will not fall into the dilemma of those schemes," stressing their stay in Shingal and expressing its support for what he called "the democratic administration formed by its people," saying that this "will strengthen Iraq," according to him.
It is known that the Yazidis recently demonstrated in the Shangal area, demanding the PKK militants to leave the area and know the fate of their sons who were kidnapped by the party and throw them off to their forces in Qandil.

And this same Kalkan had stated in 2017, during the independence referendum in the Kurdistan region, that no one has the right to divide the countries of Turkey, Iran, Iraq, and Syria "because we (PKK) protect the state of the peoples of the Middle East, and we seek to build the state of democratic peoples in these four countries".

Adding, "The Kurds will be the fabric of this democratic state, and that is why the Kurds have no right to demand their independent state. It is not permissible for the people of the Middle East to build their own nation-states. Demanding a nation-state is a strategic mistake."

Stressing, "This is why we are against the Kurdish state, we protect the state of Iraq, Turkey, Iran, and Syria. We seek to change the identity of these countries to transform them into the democratic nation-state."
