Gire Spi…Iraqi refugees seize Kurdish homes
ARK News: Local sources from the city of Gire Spi in Syrian Kurdistan said, yesterday, that the homes of Kurdish civilians in the city were seized by Iraqi "refugees" who had fled from the Ain Isa and Silok camps, by order of armed militias loyal to the Turkish army.
A source familiar with the inside of the city told BasNews: The displaced people who fled from Ein Isa and Silok camp, most of them Iraqis, to the city of Gire Spi reside in the homes of the Kurdish civilians without the permission of the owners who were displaced from them due to the Turkish invasion on the area.
The source added that each house is inhabited by two or three families in the Kurdish neighborhoods (Al-Lail, Gawish, Kur Hasan) by order of the militias loyal to the Turkish army.
The source pointed out that cases of looting and theft are continuing of the property of Kurdish civilians by armed militias on the one hand, and deserters from the camps of Ein Isa and Silok in Tal Abyad countryside on the other hand.
The source emphasized that the majority of the Kurdish civilians are afraid to return to their homes for fear of arrest and killing, as is the case in Afrin.
The source pointed out that some Kurdish families remained in the countryside of Tal Abyad, while the majority exited during the war and the majority feared to return, as some southwest villages are still witnessing sporadic clashes between the YPG forces and the Turkish army and its militias.
The source also mentioned that the city of Tal Abyad and its countryside is witnessing a state of security chaos, as there have been several recent bombings that killed and wounded dozens of civilians and military personnel.
