ARK News.. The Syrian People's Assembly has announced the date on which the list submitted by Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa, appointing one-third of the Assembly's members, will be revealed.

In an announcement published through its official platforms, the Syrian People's Assembly stated that President Ahmad al-Sharaa's list, comprising 70 names, will be announced on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

Under the Constitutional Declaration, Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa is granted the authority to appoint 70 members, who will be added to the remaining two-thirds of the Assembly (140 seats) elected from Syria's governorates, with the exception of Suwayda Governorate, where elections were not held due to the prevailing security conditions.

Article 24 of the Constitutional Declaration states that the appointed one-third is intended to ensure fair representation of women, the various components of society, and different social groups in order to achieve the required balance within the People's Assembly.
