United Nations: 70,000 people still remain displaced due to the military operation in northeast Syria

ARK News: The United Nations Office of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has issued a report about what the Turkish military operation and the Syrian National Army left behind by in Syrian Kurdistan.

The report noted that during the days from 1 to 19 November, the following was recorded:

75,438 people were displaced, including 31,680 children and 18,860 women.

Among the displaced residents of 48 884 from Hasaka province, and 19471 from Raqqa and 7083 from Aleppo.

The report added that 117,132 people had returned to their homes, half of whom had returned to areas under Turkish control.

More than 15,750 people took refuge in the Kurdistan Region, where 10,127 were sheltered in Bardarash camp, 1881 in Gwelan camp, 3,751 people left the camps, 13,630 registered as refugees, 34% of whom were residents of Qamishlo and 33% of Sari Kaniye (Ras al-Ain).

The report added that the fighting is still going on the road near the M4 and Tal Tamir.

The report stressed that the deterioration of services in Gire Spi (Tal Abyad) and Silok, where the electricity from the Euphrates Dam was cut, in addition to the closure of educational centers.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) emphasizes the importance of warring parties distancing civilians from fighting.
