Dr. Abdul Hakim Bashar: "ENKS' relationship with the coalition is necessary, and the natural position of the Kurds is within the opposition."
ARK News… On Wednesday, June 30, 2021, Dr. Abdel Hakim Bashar held a political seminar in the Kawergosik refugee camp in the countryside of Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, attended by a large group of refugees.
Dr. Hakim discussed the general Syrian situation, the prospects for a political solution, and the role of the active states in the Syrian file. He also touched on the relationship of the Kurds in general and the National Council in particular with the Syrian opposition.
Dr. Abdul Hakim stressed that the council’s relationship with the coalition is necessary that must be preserved and developed, as the natural position of the Kurds is to be with the national opposition, and the coalition is considered the most responsive to the rights of the Kurds and the most effective and has a regional and international role.
He also spoke about the Kurdish-Kurdish dialogue, stressing that the Council is serious about any dialogue when the conditions for its success and sustainability are available, and considers disengagement from the PKK, the entrance to a productive dialogue, along with other fundamental issues, including not antagonizing the neighborhood and not dragging the Kurds of Syria into battles that are not theirs, because the Syrian Kurds are their conflict with Damascus regime and not with other parties.
Dr. Hakim also stressed the necessity of deepening and consolidating the national dimension of the Kurdish issue and translating this through ideas, practices, and interaction with all national issues as our issues par excellence.
He stressed the need to build closer relations with the various components of Syria, our partners in the homeland, and to shape the future of Syria, he also talked about the need to develop a realistic program to return the displaced Kurds to their homes.
