The Association of Journalists documents violations against the media in Syria within months
ARK News: On Friday, The Syrian Center for Press Freedoms of Syrian Journalists' Association (SIJ) issued a special report reviewing the results of media violations in Syria during the first half of 2018.
The Center's report documented "51 violations of the media in Syria from the beginning of January to the end of June 2018, a significant decrease in comparing with the violations of the first half of last year, which were 132 violations."
“March recorded the largest number of violations with 14 cases, followed by February 11, the second was 10, May 7, and April 6, while the lowest percentage of violations in a month was recorded in 3 cases.
“Violations varied during the first half of 2018, where the Center documented 9 cases of killing, and 24 cases of beatings and injuries, and 14 cases of kidnapping and detention, and one case against media institutions, and documented three other violations, According to the report.”
Geographically saying, the governorate of Aleppo was the most affected area with 16 cases, then Idleb and Damascus countryside were 14 cases each separately, in Daraa 4 cases, and one case in both a campaign and Homs, in addition to the case documented in Lebanon.
