Saudi Crown Prince's Call with Trump Leads to Suspension of Planned U.S. Strikes on Tehran

ARK News.. A phone call between Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and U.S. President Donald Trump has reportedly resulted in the suspension of planned American military strikes against Tehran, according to a U.S. media report.

CBS News reported that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman spoke by telephone with President Donald Trump, urging him to exercise restraint and postpone further military escalation in the region.

According to the network, the conversation, which took place on Saturday, August 1, 2026, included Saudi warnings about the potential consequences of launching a new wave of military strikes against the Islamic Republic of Iran. Riyadh reportedly expressed concern over the possibility of U.S. attacks targeting critical infrastructure inside Iran.

At the same time, President Trump announced that the United States and Israel had agreed to suspend the planned strikes on Iran following requests from Tehran and several other countries in the region, on the condition that a rapid agreement be reached.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said the United States was "prepared to strike the Islamic Republic of Iran with a level of military power and force not seen since World War II."

He added:

"However, Iran and other countries in the Middle East have just asked us to suspend any attack. Based on that request, I have agreed, for the future benefit of the world and for Iran to remain successful and prosperous, to cancel the attack, provided that a swift agreement is reached."

Trump also stated that Israel shares this commitment to suspending the planned military action pending diplomatic progress.
