Syrian Authorities Seize More Than 7 Million Captagon Pills in July Crackdown

ARK News.. Syria's Anti-Narcotics Directorate announced that it seized more than 7 million Captagon pills during security operations carried out in July, while reaffirming its commitment to continuing preemptive operations targeting drug trafficking and distribution networks.

According to the directorate, the operations resulted in the confiscation of large quantities of narcotics and the dismantling of criminal trafficking networks as part of ongoing efforts to destroy the infrastructure of organized drug smuggling and combat the spread of narcotics.

Official statistics showed that authorities seized 7,141,917 Captagon pills, 1,190 kilograms of hashish, 124,335 pharmaceutical tablets, 15,168 pregabalin tablets, 8.3 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, 151 grams of cocaine, 22 grams of heroin, and 1.8 kilograms of precursor chemicals used in the manufacture of illicit drugs.

During the same period, the Anti-Narcotics Directorate also dismantled three international drug trafficking networks and carried out 48 specialized security operations targeting individuals involved in drug trafficking and distribution.
