The General Establishment for Drinking Water and Sanitation in Hasaka province announced on Thursday, July 30, 2026, the start of trial water pumping from the Alok Water Station at 10:00 a.m. to four neighborhoods in the city of Hasaka.

According to the establishment, the water supply will cover the neighborhoods of al-Aziziya, al-Tala'i, al-Ghazal, and Khashman for eight hours, provided that no emergency occurs.

The establishment stressed that the water is not suitable for drinking until further notice, urging residents to use it only for non-drinking purposes and to comply with the instructions and guidelines issued by the authorities to ensure public safety.

Farhan al-Owais, Director of the General Establishment for Drinking Water and Sanitation in Hasaka, said the failure of water to reach all neighborhoods of the city following the resumption of pumping from Alok Station is due to the deterioration of the water distribution network and the high number of faults affecting it.

He added that the establishment remains in the trial pumping phase in order to identify technical faults and carry out the necessary repairs.
