U.S.: Iran Could Build a Nuclear Bomb “Within Two Weeks”

ARK News.. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that Iran could produce a nuclear bomb within two weeks if Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei gives the order.

Speaking to reporters, Leavitt said:
"Iran has everything it needs to build a nuclear weapon. All it would take is a decision from the Supreme Leader, and it would take about two weeks to complete."

Her statement comes as U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Thursday, June 19, 2025, that he will decide within two weeks whether to authorize a military strike on Iran, amid the ongoing war between Iran and Israel, Washington's key ally.

Leavitt read a statement from President Trump, who acknowledged the "widespread speculation" regarding potential direct U.S. involvement in the airstrikes against Iran.

Trump added:
"Given the real possibility of negotiations with Iran in the near future—though not guaranteed—I will make my decision on whether to proceed within the next two weeks."

Since last Friday, Israel has launched a large-scale assault on Iranian territory, targeting military and nuclear sites, state media outlets, and security facilities. Iran has responded with missile and drone attacks on various areas inside Israel.

According to Iran's Ministry of Health, the Israeli strikes have so far killed at least 224 people and injured over 1,200.
In Israel, government sources report 24 fatalities from Iranian attacks.
