ARK News.. A Syrian human rights organization has documented the deaths of over 390 individuals who perished under torture in the detention facilities of the former Assad regime.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that during recent months, it verified the deaths of 400 people subjected to torture in these prisons.

According to the Observatory, the total number of individuals who died under torture in the regime's security detention centers since the beginning of this year has risen to 7,536.

Since the outbreak of the Syrian revolution in 2011, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented the deaths of 56,322 individuals by name in the regime's detention facilities. This figure represents part of a broader estimate of over 105,000 individuals believed to have died in these prisons.

These grim statistics underscore the scale of human rights violations and systematic abuse that marked the Assad regime's rule. Efforts to account for and address these atrocities remain a critical focus for human rights organizations and transitional justice initiatives.
