America: Creating conditions is the best way for Syrian refugees and displaced persons to return to their homes

The "US Embassy in Syria" stated in a tweet on the "X" platform that the United States "emphasizes the call of UN Security Council Resolution 2254 to create conditions for the voluntary, safe, and dignified return of refugees and internally displaced persons in Syria."
It added: "The Assad regime must create the necessary conditions for return, and all refugees and displaced persons must be treated with humanity and their rights respected."
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees estimates that the number of internally displaced Syrians and refugees around the world is approximately 13.4 million.
The number of Syrian refugees worldwide is around 7 million, with nearly half of them in Turkey, while approximately a million refugees live in Germany and the same number in Lebanon.
It is noteworthy that UN Resolution "2254", which the Security Council voted on December 18, 2015, stipulates the formation of a transitional governing body and holding elections under UN auspices, after a new constitution is drafted that is not based on sectarian foundations under the supervision and supervision of the United Nations, in addition to impose a permanent ceasefire in Syria.
