A human rights report monitoring violations in Syria in February 2024

The Syrian Network for Human Rights Today, Wednesday issued its special monthly report monitoring the human rights situation in Syria, in which it reviewed the outcome of the most prominent human rights violations at the hands of the parties to the conflict and the controlling forces in Syria in February 2024.
She stated that the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights reiterated that Syria is still unsafe for the return of refugees.
In February, the report recorded the killing of 78 civilians, including 7 children and 4 women (adult female), the majority of whom were killed by other parties. The report also documented that among the victims was 1 victim who was medical personnel.
It was also recorded that 9 people were killed due to torture, in addition to at least 3 massacres. According to the report, at least 194 cases of arbitrary arrest/detention, including 7 children and 5 women, were recorded by the parties to the conflict and the controlling forces in Syria in February, the largest percentage of which were at the hands of the Syrian regime forces.
According to the report, February witnessed at least 5 incidents of attacks on vital civilian centers, 3 of which were at the hands of Syrian regime forces, and were concentrated in Idlib Governorate. Among these attacks, the report documented one attack on an educational facility and three on places of worship.
The report called on the Security Council to take additional measures after the issuance of Resolution No. 2254 and stressed the necessity of referring the Syrian file to the International Criminal Court and holding all those involved accountable, including the Russian regime after its involvement in committing war crimes was proven.
