ARK News… On Monday, Hungary approved the decision to join Sweden in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), officially joining Sweden in the alliance after removing obstacles and abandoning its military neutrality for years.

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said: His country is ready to assume its responsibilities with regard to Euro-Atlantic security. He described the vote as a “historic day.”

The Hungarian Parliament voted in favor of the resolution, and 188 deputies voted, while only 6 deputies opposed it. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban had previously announced that his country would approve the resolution.

Earlier, the administration of US President Joe Biden had previously expressed its full support for Sweden’s membership in NATO.

The US President described Sweden as a “capable partner” and that they are working to further develop bilateral relations.
