Guterres: The Middle East is on the brink of abyss

“Each of these goals is justified in itself,” said UN Secretary-General António Guterres. “They should not be turned into bargaining chips and should be implemented because they are the right thing to do.”
He pointed out that "it is my duty to make these two calls at this dramatic moment, while we are on the brink of abyss in the Middle East."
Guterres added, "United Nations stocks of food, medical and fuel supplies in Egypt, Jordan, the West Bank and Israel can be sent to Gaza within hours."
