Idlib... Families displaced from Jabal Al-Zawiya due to the Russian escalation
ARK News… Russian warplanes, on Tuesday morning, carried out air strikes using high-explosive missiles, targeting the Zawiya Mountain area, south of Idlib Governorate, located within what is known as the "fourth de-escalation zone" (Idlib and its environs).
The region is witnessing a displacement of people to the relatively safe areas north of Idlib Governorate, northwestern Syria.
Local sources said that Russian warplanes targeted the town of Al-Fatira in the southern countryside of Idlib, northwest of the country, with five raids using concussion missiles on Tuesday morning, without causing any human casualties.
The sources confirmed that the regime forces and Russian-backed militias have targeted, with more than 70 shells and missiles since Tuesday morning, the towns of “Kafr Aweid, Kansafra, Al-Bara, Binin, Al-Ruwaiha, Fleifel, Sufuhan, and Al-Fatira” in the Jabal Al-Zawiya area, south of Idlib Governorate, and the town of Maarat al-Na’asan, north of Idlib Governorate, in addition to two Russian and Iranian reconnaissance planes flying over the area.
A child died, on Monday, and her sister was injured, as a result of regime forces targeting a tent on agricultural land on the outskirts of the city of “Sarmin” in the eastern countryside of Idlib, especially since the family of the two girls was displaced a day before from the town of “Afes” in the eastern countryside of Idlib as a result of the town bombing, they were subjected to.
The villages and towns of the Jabal al-Zawiya area, in addition to the towns of the western Aleppo countryside, witnessed a displacement of people during the past few days, as a result of the escalation of the regime forces and Russia in the region through ground attacks and air strikes.
According to the Syrian Civil Defense Organization, since the beginning of this year, regime forces, Russia, and militias loyal to them have carried out 491 attacks. These attacks claimed the lives of 55 people, including 9 children and 5 women, and as a result 225 people were injured, including 78 children and 32 women.
