The death of Kurdish writer and translator Jalal Zangabadi in Erbil
ARK News… Kurdish writer and translator Jalal Zangabadi died on September 5, 2023, in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region.
After suffering from illness in a hospital in Erbil, the Kurdish writer and translator passed away, leaving behind a valuable cultural legacy.
Zangabadi is the author of many literary and cultural works in the Kurdish and Arabic languages, including: “Encyclopedia of Khayyam – Kurdology – Iraqi Knights of Narration from the Kurdish Roots.” In addition to his creative works and his published translations, he has dozens of important manuscripts that have not yet been printed.
Jalal Hussein Muhammad Zangabadi was born on December 1, 1951 in Iraqi Kurdistan. He is a poet, translator and researcher in the Arabic and Kurdish languages, and has translated into them from: Persian, English, Spanish and Turkish.
