ARK News… A civilian died under torture in the prisons of the Assad regime after being detained for more than 11 years, according to the Syrian Network for Human Rights.

The network said that the young man, "Bashar Mustafa Zaro", was arrested by the regime's air security forces on 19-7-2012, when he was passing through one of its checkpoints in al-Zahraa Complex neighborhood in Aleppo, and since that time he has been forcibly disappeared.

It added, "Due to the Syrian regime's denial of detaining him or allowing anyone, even a lawyer, to visit him. On 7-17-2023, his family learned of his death inside one of the detention centers of the Syrian regime forces, and we have information that he was in good health when he was arrested, which highly likely his death due to torture and neglect of health care."

The network confirmed that about 135,481 Syrian citizens are still under arrest or forcibly disappeared in the detention centers of the Syrian regime forces, and we have a real fear for their fate.
