An armed group kidnaps an elderly man and asks for a large ransom

ARK News: An armed group kidnapped an elderly man, several days ago from his home in the Kurdish city of Afrin and is now asking his family for a huge sum of $ 35,000 for his release.

The deputy chairman of the Local Council in Jenderes town, Fawzi Cholak, reported to the ARK Media that the 60 –years elderly man, Adnan Mustafa Sido, from the village of Ramadana belonging to Jenderes town abducted from his home in Afrin city by four unknown assailants under the pretext of questioning him and asking inquiries.

Fawzi added that after two days of the abduction of the old man the gunmen contacted his son who lives in abroad and asked him for $ 35 thousand dollars, and after long negotiations on telephone with his son, the sum was reduced to $ 25,000 for his release, the elderly man is still being held by the armed group, and that he is threatened of killing unless his relatives pay the mentioned amount.

It is noteworthy that the pro-Turkish army factions, which participated in the occupation of the city of Afrin, committed dozens of crimes against the people of the city and its countryside, killing, kidnapping and torture, along with looting and theft, burning agricultural crops and forests, the seizure of property of citizens, and the destruction of monuments and religious.
