France vows to prosecute perpetrators of war crimes in Syria
ARK News… The French Foreign Ministry has vowed to prosecute the perpetrators of Syrian war crimes, inside and outside Syria, and to put an end to impunity.
The ministry confirmed, during a statement, the content of which was published on the “France in Arabic” website, that France will strengthen its role in prosecuting Syrian perpetrators, wherever they are and will put an end to impunity.
The country's parliament had adopted the international penal mandate to hold war criminals in Syria in France accountable, which was welcomed by the ministry.
The new French law on Syria, which was issued on Thursday, includes giving the judiciary and relevant authorities in France the right to establish cooperation with international actors to hold Syrian war criminals residing on French soil accountable.
