ARK News: The National Kurdish Council in Syria held its regular meeting on 22/9/2018, after standing in silence for the martyrs of Kurdistan, the martyrs of the Syrian revolution, and the eternal spirit of Barzani, the agenda of the meeting was adopted, which included in addition to the political situation and the suffering of our people, especially in Afrin, and assess the political and public performance of the council.
About the political situation the report which submitted by the Presidency of the Council was read which addressed the highlights of the current situation, and it was discussed, the Council considered that the recent Russian-Turkish agreement on Idleb was important and positive, because it managed to get away from the humanitarian disaster that would have won millions of civilians if the fighting had erupted there on the other hand, it considered that the possibility of the movement of armed groups, especially from the Jabhat Al Nosra to other areas, especially the Kurdish ones, which constitutes a legitimate concern and will result in new catastrophic consequences for the international community and those concerned to be aware of and prevent, especially the continuous suffering of our people in Afrin to be exacerbated by the continuing crimes of mercenaries and armed groups there and their Persistence And the inability of the international community and the states concerned to deter, hold them accountable and bring them out, the appeals of the Kurdish National Council, human rights organizations and Afrin residents have not received the necessary attention. The Council strongly condemns these practices and crimes, and reiterates its demands, and calls for securing the return of the displaced of their sons to their lands and homes, and the provision of their living and providing living conditions, and the handover of Afrin administration to its people and the provision of international protection.

The Council affirmed that fragmented solutions are not a substitute for a comprehensive solution that is consistent with the aspirations and sacrifices of the Syrians in building a democratic, pluralistic, federal state that recognizes its constitution and guarantees the national rights of the Kurdish people and all other national components in the country, and it called for the activation of the Geneva process in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy, and under the direct supervision of the United Nations and care at all stages and steps of the solution, and with concerted efforts to form a constitutional committee demanded the Council to represent the Kurds in a fair representation commensurate with their size in the country, and called on the Syrian opposition to stand by their side and their constitutional demands as demanded by the National Coalition for the Revolutionary Force to fulfill the document signed between them and the Kurdish National Council and abide by its content.

The Council stressed that the tyranny of the PYD and its unilateral policies are trying to end THE political life and peaceful democratic action. They have been trying to build a Kurdish understanding of the rapid developments and have not provided any positive atmosphere in this area. They have continued to pursue the Council members and supporters, and the people are tired of imposing decisions of his administration concerning their lives and especially with regard to the future of their children in education, which has caused the migration of thousands of the Kurdish people.

On the occasion of the first anniversary of the referendum on the independence of Kurdistan through which the people of Kurdistan expressed their desire and free will in a peaceful, democratic and civilized way, the Council was honored by His Excellency President Masoud Barzani and highly appreciated his wisdom and leadership of the region which was able to face the challenges and thwart the bets and plots, and made this day a historic day for the children of Kurdistan and their right to self-determination.

The meeting stopped the performance of the Council and stressed the need to develop it and took a number of decisions that would activate the activity of the Council at the political, organizational and public levels and seek to hold the fourth conference of the Council, as well as the need to communicate and interact with the rest of the national components and religious and social events to promote the culture of coexistence and the maintenance of civil and community peace .
