The Kurdish National Council calls on the International Coalition to put an end to the intimidating practices of the PYD

ARK News… In a statement, the General Secretariat of the Kurdish National Council condemned the burning of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria office by PYD militants in the city of Qamishlo in Syrian Kurdistan.

The General Secretariat of the Council said in its statement today, “The armed groups affiliated with the Democratic Union Party burned the office of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria, one of the parties of the Kurdish National Council, early this morning, Tuesday, May 14, 2024.”

The statement added, "By burning this office, the number of offices that have been burned since March 1 reaches ten offices belonging to the Council and its parties throughout the Kurdish cities and towns under the control of the Democratic Union Party."

The General Secretariat's statement added, "It has become clear to everyone that these actions aim to block the way for American and European efforts to restore the Kurdish-Kurdish dialogue, which was launched under American sponsorship and guaranteed by the SDF leadership, in April 2020 and was undermined by the PYD."

Explaining, “The Kurdish National Council condemns in the strongest terms these terrorist acts carried out by armed groups affiliated with the Democratic Union Party, and holds the political, security and military leaders responsible for this.”

The General Secretariat called on the international coalition to condemn these terrorist acts and work to stop them. It also called on all Kurdish parties and all human rights parties and organizations operating in Syrian Kurdistan to take a clear position on these acts against the Kurdish National Council in Syria, condemn them and work to stop them.

The Kurdish National Council in Syria affirmed its commitment to the political principles and goals on which it was founded, and its commitment to working on the unity of the Kurdish position to serve the Kurdish people and unify all national efforts to find a political solution to the Syrian crisis in accordance with UN resolutions to resolve the Syrian crisis.
