The National Democratic Gathering in Syria has issued a statement to the public regarding its merger with the Progressive Democratic Party in Syria
ARK News… After extensive political dialogue between representatives of the National Democratic Gathering in Syria and representatives of the Progressive Democratic Party in Syria over a period of more than two months, an agreement was reached to merge the National Democratic Gathering in Syria with the Progressive Democratic Party in Syria, effectively dissolving the Gathering and integrating it within the ranks of the party.
The decision to join was made at a general council meeting of the National Democratic Gathering in Syria held on May 12, 2024, with the resolution approved by an absolute majority of council members, in accordance with the internal regulations of the National Democratic Gathering.
Recognizing the importance of unity in this sensitive stage of our Kurdish and Syrian history, dialogues between the parties were conducted with transparency and smoothness on political and organizational levels. Undoubtedly, the principles and commonalities shared between the parties contributed to the success of the dialogue, fostering realistic political discourse, Syrian-Kurdish dialogue, and asserting the independence of Syrian Kurdish political decision-making, and enhancing the position and role of the party in the Syrian and Kurdish political arena.
We hope to continue the dialogue with other parties that share our political orientations and vision, ensuring its success in serving our just Kurdish cause.
In conclusion, we congratulate our people on this integrative step, hopeful that it will contribute to restoring people's confidence in politics and political action.
