Armed groups set fire purposely in the forest trees in rural Afrin

ARK News: Turkish-backed gunmen set fire purposely to the mountains of the village of Bafalun belonging to Afrin town Kurdistan of Syria.

“The pro-Turkish militants who control of the village of Bafalun set fire to the mountains of the village of Bafalun belonging to the Shara town the flames devour large numbers of mountain and olive trees,” a special source from Shara town said to ARK News.

According to the same source, "The cause of the fire is that the militants have recently cut off most of the trees to trade firewood, especially with the approaching of winter and the need for people, so that they set fire to the mountain to cover up their act of logging, theft, and trafficking.”

About the return of the villagers to their village, the source confirmed that the gunmen who control the village prevent 23 Kurdish families from returning to the village and now they are living in the Afrin city center, despite several attempts, but all the attempts have failed.

There are confirmed reports by some observers that most of the pro Turkish armed groups set fire purposely to the forest, the main purpose of which is to take advantage of the firewood in winter, and that the outbreak of fires in these vital areas is more than a question point, and that it is repeated that there are hidden hands behind these actions which lead to destroy the infrastructure of the region and fight the Kurds by their livelihood.
