Bashar Al-Ja’fari: "There is no Kurdish issue in Syria and we reject self-administration"
ARK News: The head of the Syrian regime's delegation to the Astana talks and the representative of the regime at the United Nations, Bashar Ja’fari, announced his country's refusal to grant the Kurds in Syria self-administration, denying the existence of a Kurdish issue in Syria.
Ja’fari said in a press statement, on Wednesday, after the Astana talks: "There is no Kurdish issue in Syria and the Syrian-Kurdish component is part of our history."
He added, "the talks with the Kurds are an internal matter, and they (the Kurds) should stay away from the United States of America."
The delegate of the regime at the United Nations said that his country refuses to establish any self-administration in northern Syria, considering this a "division of the country."
Ja’fari touched on the situation in Idlib governorate, saying: "The Idlib file is related to combating terrorism and the biggest problem in it now is the presence of Turkish-American protection for terrorists."
A few days ago, the Syrian regime sent officials consists of several parties loyal to it to the Kurdish city of Qamishlo to raise the issue of "local administration" instead of "self-administration."
