Ankara warns that it will restart operation if the Kurds remain on the Turkish border
ARK News: There is little more than one day left for the truce to end if Kurdish groups do not leave the area, Ankara will continue its operation, said Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.
On October 17, Turkey and the US agreed to a ceasefire in Syria for 120 hours for the Kurds of Syria to withdraw their forces 30 kilometers from the Turkish border.
Cavusoglu acknowledged that some Kurdish forces have left the territory, but there are still attacks that cause concern.
The Turkish head added that on October 22 in Sochi there will be a meeting between the president of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, which will be of great importance for the resolution of the conflict in Syria.
The foreign minister stressed that his country is voting in a political, and not military, way of fixing the crisis.
Turkey started on October 9 an offensive in northern Syria to, supposedly, remove Kurdish militias from their border and establish in the Syrian northeast a safe area to welcome the Thousands of refugees
The operation, called Peace Fountain, points against the Kurdish-led formations, including the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDS), the militant of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) and the Popular Protection Units (YPG) that dominate the Syrian northeast.
