Turkish military vehicles enter Syria for joint patrols with the US

ARK News: According to media reports, Turkish military vehicles crossed Syria's northeastern border on Sunday to begin joint US-Turkey patrols; however, neither Turkey nor the United States commented on this information.

Six Turkish-flagged vehicles joined US armored vehicles about 15 kilometers east of the Turkish border town of Akcakale, east of the Euphrates near Tel Abyadh, in Syria, according to Anadolu Agency.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed his intention to establish a "safe zone" in northeastern Syria along with the United States by the end of September.

Erdogan said last week that his country would have no delay in creating a "safe zone" in Syria and would establish it on its own if talks with the United States fail to produce results.

In August, Ankara and Washington agreed to create a safe area east of the Euphrates river that would serve as a buffer zone between the Turkish border and the Syrian areas controlled by US-backed the QSD militants.
