Fouad Aliko: The PYD is in a critical situation and Iran is pressing it to head to Damascus

ARK News: A member of the political committee of the Kurdistan Yekiti Party- Syria, Fouad Aliko, announced that the Democratic Union Party the PYD is in a critical position due to current developments in Syria, including the safe area.

In his participation in the ARK Bulletin, on Tuesday 20.08.2019, Aliko said that the PYD wants to go to Damascus to return the regime to the areas of Syrian Kurdistan, but the US presence does not allow this, they previously called the regime in Afrin, but the regime did not come, at the same time, Turkey is demanding the withdrawal of the PYD and its militants from the border to build the safe area, so the PYD is in a difficult situation due to the US-Turkish rapprochement.

Aliko added that Iran also entered the line and showed its position on the safe area, and Iran will demand the PYD to head to Damascus and also demand to show an inflexible attitude which contrary to what the PYD is showing in the past about the flexibility towards the safe area, which it cannot do because of the US-Turkish presence and rapprochement.
