Right Organization: PYD officials prevent IDPs from returning to Afrin and Aleppo

May 06 2019

The Human Rights Organization in Afrin published an official report on Facebook, May 2, 2019, in which it revealed the practices and violations which happen against the Kurdish IDPs in the IDP camps in rural Aleppo and the refusal of IDPs to return to Afrin or to Aleppo and the officials of the PYD prevent the displaced from returning to Afrin or transit to Aleppo.

The Organization also addressed the deterioration of the health situation in the camps and the spread of Leishmania and diseases among displaced people especially children, forcing the displaced to participate in Sit-ins and demonstrations and the conduct of joint checkpoints between the PYD, and the Revolutionary Guards and the Syrian regime.

The ARK Media Foundation received a copy of the report stating:

Six months ago, we discussed the health situation in the areas of Shahba like spreading of epidemics and infectious diseases in the displaced camps forcibly from the people of Afrin in the areas of Shahba but the suffering has increased during the past two weeks, as a result of the lack of necessary vaccines to treat the disease of Leishmania (infection of the year) and its spread in the center of the camp residents in general, which took away the bodies of young children in especial.

And through our follow-up with some people and inquire about the solutions provided to them to get rid of this situation by the responsible authorities.

Mrs. (F. A) said that the leaders of the self-management had visited the camp several times and we put them in our health and living problems and what we suffered in the tents from the heavy rain and the entry of water into the tents and despite the promises more than once to us but the situation remained as it is, but even worse.

And for a while, we are trying to get out of the camp to go to Afrin or Aleppo, but those officials for the self-management prevent us from this and some of them ask us for money that we do not have and cannot secure it. She also declared that they have become a commercial commodity in the hands of the responsible cadres that follow the Iranian authorities and the Syrian regime. Most of the elements of the PYD form joint patrols with the Syrian security elements in the villages of Soghanake and Benne and with the IRG in Nabil and Zahra towns as if we were in the days of the Syrian Baath Party which forced us to go out for sit-ins and protests with hatred.

We urge you and also appeal to all human rights and humanitarian organizations to bring our voices to the international bodies to find solutions to our exit from this quagmire.

On the other hand, the Turkish forces bulldozed the archaeological hill in the village of Burj Abdalo to search for monuments and hide its features on the pretext of establishing a military headquarters and made it a field training camp.

The settlers also graze their livestock between the olive fields and the wheat and barley cultivated land belonging to the Kurds in Tallef and Burj Abdalo. When filing a complaint with the Civil Police, they are expelled without considering or processing their complaint.

Khalil Mohammed Omar, a resident of Basouta, was attacked by a group of masked thieves on 30 April 2019, while he was in his field near the main road leading to the village, pointing guns towards his face, and his motorbike was taken away and then they fled away.
