ARK News… France Presse Agency reported that Iran has reduced its military presence and withdrawn its forces from southern Syria, after a series of Israeli strikes in Syria.

The agency quoted a source close to Hezbollah as saying that Iranian forces evacuated the southern Syrian region and withdrew from their positions in the Damascus countryside, Daraa, and Quneitra during the past weeks, adding that “Iranian forces are still present in other parts of Syria.”

The source explained that the Iranian forces "only have a representative office in Damascus, through which communication takes place between the Syrian regime and the allies," in reference to the militias loyal to Iran.

It stressed that Iran began withdrawing its forces from Syria after the Israeli raid last January 20, which resulted in the killing of five members of the Revolutionary Guard in Damascus.
