International organization: 1,270 Syrians have died during the refugee journey since 2014
ARK NEWS… The United Nations International Organization for Migration revealed in a report that it had documented the deaths of tens of thousands of migrants, including Syrian refugees, since 2014.
The organization documented the death or disappearance of more than 63,000 people, including Syrians, on migration routes around the world, most of them due to drowning, between 2014 and 2023.
The organization monitored the death of 1,270 Syrians on migration routes, ranked fourth after Afghanistan, Myanmar, and Ethiopia.
According to the report, more than a third of the documented deaths were of migrants and asylum seekers coming from countries witnessing conflicts, including Syria.
The report indicated that about 60% of documented deaths are related to drowning.
