ARK News: Ahmed Badradin Hasson, Mufti of the Syrian regime, said that the Turkish president gave a promise to the Syrian regime before the revolution began.

In an interview with the channel "Najbaa" Iraq on Friday, 9 November 2018, Hasson said that he met Erdogan in the capital Ankara in early 2011, where the Turkish president expressed his country's readiness to help the Syrian regime in case of Syria witnessed a "sedition", and Hasson said, "The Arab Spring is coming to you," according to what the Mufti mentioned.

He added that when Erdogan's words were conveyed to Bashar al-Assad, Assad said, "Tell him that we do not want him to help, but we want to lift his scourge on us." Hasson was particularly surprised that Syrian-Turkish relations were at their height of improvement during that period.

According to Hanson’s account, Assad justified this by saying, "What came once or went (Erdogan) only asked us to allow the religious Parties to return to establishing in Syria, In reference to the “Muslim Brotherhood”, he continued that “Assad was responding to him, saying that we should not confuse religion in political Parties and distort religion”.

The Turkish government has supported the Syrian popular movement since its inception in March 2011, and has supported the Syrian opposition politically and militarily, and also calls repeatedly for the departure of Assad from power through the statements of its officials.

The Turkish government did not comment on the incident, which was reported by Mufti Badradin Hasson, until the moment

Hasson pointed out in the televised meeting that some Turkish newspapers recently asked him to hold dialogues with them, however, he refused the meeting, asking them to recognize in their reports that Turkey trained 390 thousand fighters and sent them to Syria, as he put it.
