ARK News… Coinciding with the decline in the value of the Syrian pound against the US dollar, the prices of public transportation fares have increased in the city of Hasakah in Syrian Kurdistan.

On Friday, August 4, 2023, local sources reported that public transport companies in the city of Hasaka raised fares for transporting bus passengers for the (Hasaka-Damascus) line, on Wednesday.

According to the sources, "companies raised the price per passenger in the regular class from 44,000 to 66,000 Syrian pounds, while they raised the price of a business card per passenger from 55,000 to 85,000 Syrian pounds."

The people in the cities and towns of Syrian Kurdistan suffer from the high prices of transportation fares and basic materials for daily life due to the absence of control by the PYD administration.
