Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region, April 1, 2023, reaffirmed the protection of equality, rights, and freedoms, and consolidated a culture of coexistence, acceptance of the other, and tolerance among all religious and national components of Kurdistan, and reassured Christians and all components that the Kurdistan Region will remain a home for all as it always is.
The following is the text of congratulations on the advent of the Assyrian-Babylonian New Year:
On the occasion of the Assyrian-Babylonian New Year and the Akito holiday, I extend my warmest congratulations to the Chaldean, Assyrian, and Syriac sisters and brothers in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and all parts of the world. I wish them all success and a happy and safe Eid and holiday.
On this occasion, we renew our emphasis on the protection of equality, rights, and freedoms, and the consolidation of a culture of coexistence, acceptance of the other, and tolerance among all religious and national components of Kurdistan, and we reassure our Christian sisters and brothers and all components that the Kurdistan Region will remain a homeland for all as it always is.
