ARK News… The Syria Response Coordinators said that the new depression began in northwestern Syria, coinciding with a clear decrease in temperature and an increase in wind speed in the region, less than two weeks after the previous rainstorm that caused extensive damage to the camps for the displaced and centers. Shelter and residential gatherings.

The team called on all humanitarian organizations and bodies to fully raise readiness and work to provide urgent and immediate assistance to the displaced living in camps, random gatherings, and shelters located in northwestern Syria, in conjunction with a severe decrease in the humanitarian response operations to compensate for the damage, which did not exceed 20% of the previous damages.

It also called on all humanitarian organizations and agencies to contribute effectively to securing the needs of the displaced within the camps in general and to work to provide the necessary services for the most vulnerable groups (children, women, the elderly), and to try not to repeat past mistakes in terms of waiting for disasters to arrive and starting response operations.

It stressed the importance of working on repairing the previous damages, within those camps, repairing the sewage and rainwater networks, and securing the necessary insulators to prevent rainwater from entering the tents, as it is expected that the percentage of damage will increase further to include a large percentage of the camps in the current depression.

The relief team appealed to all donors that provide humanitarian support in the northwestern regions of Syria, to contribute urgently and immediately to the requirements of the needs of the displaced within those camps and gatherings.
