Kurdistan Region Security about the helicopter crash: A party from Sulaimaniyah facilitated relations between the PKK and the SDF
ARK News… The Kurdistan Region Security Council revealed more information about a helicopter crash on the night of 15/16 March 2023 in the Duhok Governorate.
On Sunday, the Kurdistan Region Security Council said in a statement: “According to the statement of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), two helicopters crashed and nine people were killed in the accident, but we cannot confirm that only one helicopter crashed and seven people were killed.”
According to the Kurdistan Region Security Council, the two helicopters had previously landed at several bases in Sulaimaniyah Governorate and then headed towards western Kurdistan (Syrian Kurdistan).
The statement indicated that "a party in Sulaimaniyah secretly and unofficially facilitated relations between the 'SDF' and the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and helped them in various ways."
The Kurdistan Region Security Council called on the coalition and the federal Iraqi government to clarify with what license these helicopters fly over the territory of the Kurdistan Region and who is responsible for these illegal activities.
